Voit was founded in Los Angeles by William J. Voit, the son of German-American immigrants. What began as a small tire retreading business quickly turned into something more.
Driven by curiosity and a passion for invention, Voit developed one of the first inflatable rubber balls, changing how the game could be played.

Through the 1930s and 40s, Voit introduced a series of innovations that helped shape modern sport. New materials, new construction methods, and patented designs set a new standard for performance.
Among them, a breakthrough process that combined leather and rubber laid the foundation for the modern basketball.
Voit’s impact reached beyond the field. Its innovations became widely adopted,
influencing how sports equipment was made and used across the world.
The W.J. Voit Memorial Trophy, awarded to top collegiate football players for
decades, reflected that influence and connection to the game.

Voit’s reach extended beyond traditional sport. From diving equipment to water polo, the brand played a role in shaping performance across disciplines.
Its products appeared in Olympic competition and even on screen, supporting underwater scenes in film and television.

Since 1985, Voit has been the official match ball of Liga MX. For over 40 years, the game’s biggest moments have been played with Voit.
That level of competition demands consistency, durability, and trust—built into every ball.
After expanding globally, Voit is stepping forward with the same purpose it started with. To build products for those who compete.
The game continues. So do we.
